PewDeePie’s Return, GenXers Fog Up Rear View Mirrors, and NASA Preps Lunar Return

It’s another Thursday, and it’s time for Tech Talk with Mark Starling on First News 570. Even though states are starting to open back up, and you’re now able to get a haircut, remember COVID-19 is still a cause for concern. When you’re going forth, be safe, and practice safety for your fellow man.

You can listen to Mark and I talk about tech every Thursday morning at 6:43 am Eastern, LIVE.

PEW-PEW DEE PIE SIGNS EXCLUSIVE DEAL WITH YOUTUBE AFTER HIATUS

Swedish gamer, Felix Kjellberg, also affectionately known as PewDeePie has signed an exclusive deal with YouTube after defecting to Dlive after thinking the other platform would have higher financial returns. PewDeePie is YouTube’s highest independent video maker with 104 million subscribers. Last year, he left El Goog’s platform for Dlive and attracted just over 800 thousand subscribers. His claim to fame is giving occasionally controversial commentary while playing video games. Seriously, this is one of those areas where I don’t understand the voyeuristic nature of people. I know it can be entertaining, but wouldn’t you rather be the one playing the game?

Just under 10% of drive-in theaters remain open in the United States, and this unfortunate event may bring new interest to the industry. My wife and I are fans of Bengies, our “local” drive-in. It’s a great time to pig out on sugary and greasy snacks, and catching a good feel, I mean flick. The Tribeca Drive-In series starts June 25th.

NASA PLANS PIT STOP TO THE MOON FOR 2023

NASA has announced plants to build Lunar Gateway to be ready by 2023. The Lunar Gateway will serve as a human habitat, fueling station, and place to conduct experiments. The Lunar Gateway is part of NASA’s plan to return humans to the Moon by 2024. NASA intends to use SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy to deliver parts and materiel into orbit. This is really exciting stuff. The Lunar Gateway is part of NASA’s overarching Artemis plan to put humans on the Moon in a sustainable manner. And yes, that Artemis.
