UK Prime Minister Defends Zoom, Apple Lets Customers Skip, EU Uses Smartphones to Fight COVID-19

At Least No One Carried Their Laptop to the Bathroom

I don’t know about you, but the days are just blurring together and I’m losing track of time. I’ve gained a few pounds, my wife won’t let me shave because she likes the beard, and the kids are driving us crazy. It’s not easy to live in quarantine, but you’re stronger than you think. It’s easy to let the news overwhelm you, but don’t let it. To help distract you from the boredom, I’ll be recommending a new tech thing you can download, purchase, or try to learn something new, gain a skill, or have fun once a week. Check out the first article on ProCreate and let me know what you think.

If it’s Thursday, it’s time for Mark Starling and I to recap this week’s tech stories. As you may have guessed, COVID-19 overshadows most news, but we’ll do what we can to keep it light while keeping you synchronized. You can listen LIVE to Mark and I, every Thursday at 6:43 am Eastern by tuning into First News 570 online or via the iHeartRadio app.

#CopingWithCOVID19 – Procreate

Each week, I’ll highlight an app, game, device, tool, or something tech you can use for coping while being quarantined from COVID-19.

I draw and sketch a lot, even though I have no business drawing and sketching. Even though I work in tech, I spend a lot of time jotting down my thoughts and ideas on paper.

Amazon Gives Away Free Books, Picard Is Free, SoftBank Runs for the Hills

It’s now Day 14 of the quarantine for the Mapp Family. It’s been touch and go from time-to-time, but we still haven’t succumbed to insanity. If it’s Thursday and 6:43am, it’s time for tech talk on First News 570 with Mark Starling. People are staying home, corona memes are slowing down, and the economy is slowing; yet, we remain. Join us every Thursday, and listen live for the latest tech stories and tips.

Here’s something to think about this week. I’ve been having to homeschool my kids for two weeks now. Imagine what teachers who have kids are going through right now. THEY HAVE TO HOMESCHOOL THEIR KIDS, WHILE TRYING TO REMOTELY SCHOOL OUR KIDS. Crazy.

Yeah, I’m not the One

Online Games and More to Keep Yourself Busy During the Quarantine

They Driving Me Nuts Y’all

If you have kids and don’t homeschool I know it’s starting to feel real. With many schools closed for the next two weeks, some closing for the month, and a few closing indefinitely, you may be wondering how you’re going to cope with being shut in during the quarantine.

Mark Starling asked me to compile a few online spots you and your rugrats can enjoy, and not drive each other crazy. (Each Thursday at 6:43am, listen to me talk trash about tech on First News 570 or stream using the iHeart Radio app)

Microsoft Defeats Zombies, El Goog Stands Against #datRONA, and Prayer via e-Rosary

Google’s Doing It’s Best Keeping #datRONA News Relevant

I promise I’m going to get better at this. It’s been three weeks in a row, and a third blog post. If it’s Thursday, it’s tech time with Mark Starling, so grab your cup o’ Uncle Joe, fold up the newspaper, and let’s talk about what’s happening in the tech world. This week features Microsoft and El Goog doing their thing, and the Catholic Church releases a tech device.

You can listen live to our segment on Thursday mornings at 6:43 Eastern by tuning into First News 570, by downloading the iHeartRadio app, or listening online.

Black Twitter never disappoints, and #datRONA has been added to my lexicon. 🙂
